Two idiots were filmed clinging to the back of a London bus in an apparent attempt to avoid paying a bus fare.

Footage on social media showed the two people, appearing to be young men or boys, holding onto the back of a moving double-decker to ‘hitch a free ride’.

The pair were gripping onto the 114 bus travelling from Mill Hill to Ruislip on Monday, but jumped off once the vehicle was forced to stop.

The duo also concealed their faces after noticing they were being filmed, with one using his hand to shield his identity and the other pulling up his hood.

The video of two men bus surfing, the illegal act of clinging onto the outside of a moving bus to dodge fares, was captured on Mollison Way in Burnt Oak, Edgware.

An adult bus ticket in London costs £1.75 for a single journey when using contactless or an Oyster card.

The Hopper Fare also allows passengers to take multiple buses within one hour at no extra charge, and the single ticket will cost £1.75 no matter how far you go.

Users online have condemned the pair for their dangerous stunt.

One local who reshared the video said: ‘The lengths people will go to save a tap on the Oyster card!

‘Honestly, the grip strength required to hold on while the bus is moving is impressive, but one pothole and this could have ended terribly.’
