Los Angeles acquired Brown by sending Pro Bowl linebacker Jared Verse to Cleveland, giving the Browns a talented young player to add to their defense. The Rams also sent a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick to the Browns to improve their roster further.
Meanwhile, the surprising trade news drew reactions from many people, including sports analysts, celebrities, and those closest to Garrett, such as former teammates and his girlfriend, Chloe Kim.

..."I've been giggling at these rumors the last couple of days because you guys are giving me TOO MUCH CREDIT@ I found out right before it was publicized and was planning to show up and support him wherever he ended up. But I genuinely can't believe this is happening and am so excited to show him my city," she wrote, per Yahoo Sports.
There was previous speculation that Chloe Kim played a role in arranging the trade due to her prominence as an Olympic athlete and her California residence, but she has now shut that down.
Chloe Kim, 26, and Garrett, 30, have been linked since May 2025 when they stepped out together for the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Japan. According to People, they confirmed their relationship in November 2025.

She lives out in California, which likely made their relationship difficult since Garrett was playing in Cleveland. At the very least, she has a strong chance of being in the area for his home games, which could strengthen their relationship.
It could also give Garrett more support at his games as he pursues his first-ever Super Bowl with a team widely expected to contend. The Rams feature a talented roster that includes last season's NFL MVP, Matthew Stafford, as well as receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp.
Los Angeles seriously upgraded their defense with Garrett, also acquiring cornerback Trent McDuffie in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs during this NFL offseason. The team is currently the odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl in 2027.
Chloe competed in this past February's Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina, Italy, achieving a silver medal in the women's halfpipe, with her boyfriend there to support her along the way. She added that to her two gold medals in the event at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics.
