Subscribe to our newsletterThe thing about Record Store Day is that you can buy all the vinyl in the world but it won't be much use without a turntable to play it on. Oh, sure, you could just arrange it artfully on the walls to show off your impeccable taste, but wouldn't you rather just listen to it?
But what to buy? Or, if you already have a turntable, what to upgrade to? Below, I've picked out six of the best turntables we've tested, together with a few extras you might need to complete your setup.
If you want more than just Bluetooth streaming then you'll need some speakers. The superb Kanto Ren speakers are powered, so there's no need for an amp there, while the Dail Kupid are some of the best passive speakers we've tested at this price. The WiiM Amp Ultra is a little pricey — you can get an amp for much less if you want to — but as a proud owner I can confirm that it is excellent as both an amp and a streamer, and your tunes deserve the best, right? And I've thrown in a couple of essential extras, too.
Sorted. Now you just need the vinyl — so head to our list of the 13 best LPs we've seen in the RSD List this year and our getting started with vinyl feature.
