Jalen Brunson led the way for the New York Knicks in the scoring column on Wednesday night, dropping a game-high 30 points in a Game 1 win over the San Antonio Spurs to open the NBA Finals.

Josh Hart scored just three points, but had his fingerprints all over the 105-95 victory at San Antonio's Frost Bank Center.

Hart ripped down a game-high 15 rebounds to go along with six assists, four steals and one block as the Knicks secured a 1-0 lead in the championship series.

Brunson lauded Hart's impact at crucial moments in Game 1.

"That's just who he is," Brunson told reporters postgame. "He's always been that way. He just has a knack for doing things like that in crucial times, as well. It's a credit to who he is as a player."

Hart accomplished his stat line through just 27 minutes of action in the Game 1 victory. Sharpshooter Landry Shamet played 33 minutes off the bench, scoring 13 points.

"It was good. Can't think about it too much," Hart said after Game 1. "Now we got to go tomorrow, watch film, learn from the win. They're going to come out with a lot of energy, a sense of urgency, a sense of desperation and we got to do the same thing."
