A Texas girl living with a disability allegedly survived on birthday cake for two days after being left home alone until she called local police to ask for food, police in Fort Bend County, Texas, told KPRC Click2Houston
Law enforcement said in November 2025, they discovered the young girl, identified by the initials “HH,” had been left home alone for two days while her mother, identified as Philippi Angela Walker, was out of the country because HH called police asking for food, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Fort Bend County, Texas.
Detectives said that had HH, who has a “mental deficiency,” not called the sheriff’s office, she would not have been discovered for several more days.
But days later, while attempting to execute an arrest warrant at the residence, police found HH had been left home alone again, this time while Walker was at work.
Walker was subsequently charged with abandoning or endangering a child. The Independent has asked Zachary Maloney, an attorney for Walker, for comment.

It is also unclear if other adults were tasked with checking on HH.
Detectives told KPRC Click2Houston that the young girl was surviving on birthday cake at the time. At the time HH called the police, she was using a device with limited connectivity, making it difficult for deputies to determine her location.
It is also unclear why HH was allegedly alone during the second instance, while Walker was at work.
Detectives said in the probable cause affidavit that they stopped Walker in her vehicle after she left her residence to go to work at the Houston Veteran Affairs Hospital. It was then that they discovered HH was home alone, again
During the traffic stop, detectives allege Walker attempted to make contact with her grandfather to request that he go check on HH. When detectives asked Walker if her daughter was home alone, Walker allegedly refused to answer.
After her arrest, Walker posted a bond of approximately $10,000.
Walker’s next court date is June 29.
