- It offers savings on more than 170 nature-focused games
- Discounted titles include Frostpunk 2 and Coral Island
This article is part of a series of sustainability-themed articles we're running to observe Earth Day 2026 and promote more sustainable practices. Check out all of our Sustainability Week 2026 content.
The Earth Appreciation Festival sale is live right now on Steam, highlighting more than 170 games that showcase the natural world or engage with themes such as climate change and pollution.
Organized by developers Slug Disco, Stray Fawn, and Mechanistry, it's the fifth incarnation of the sale and has been timed perfectly with Earth Day 2026 this week. It's presented with Cool Earth as an official charity partner, with developer activations and content creator streams to raise money.
The sale is split into two different categories. First, there are relaxing nature games like the adorable island sandbox Coral Island, puzzle city-builder Terra Nil, the cute frog collection game Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge, and Ant Keeping Simulator (no prizes for guessing what that one is about).

The Future Games Show Summer Showcase, FGS Live, and the PC Gaming Show have been confirmed for June, with the Showcase to feature 'world premieres, exclusive trailers, and stealth demo drops'
They are contrasted by a line-up of grittier eco-dystopian games, including the brilliant strategy titles Frostpunk 2 and Endless Legend 2.
Early access products and upcoming releases are also being shown off in the Earth Appreciation Festival Showcase, viewable in a distinct tab on the sale page. There's a good variety of games here, and I've already added both cyberpunk comedy RPG Neo Junk City and roguelike deckbuilder Into the Grid to my personal wishlist based on their cool art directions alone.
If you'd rather not part with any cash at all, then you can always check out the list of games with free demos available. I know that my colleague Rob Dwiar is a big fan of the plant puzzle game Botany Manor, so I'll be trying out its demo later today.
The sale ends on April 24, 2026, so make sure to check it out before the end of this week if you're interested.
