Wedding bells chime on Coronation Street for Carla Connor (Alison King) and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers). But there’s murder on the dancefloor.

A week of special episodes will take us one step closer to solving the mystery. Who has breathed their last, and who has blood on their hands?

It’s arguably Corrie’s most ambitious Whodunnit ever. A killer on the loose, five possible victims, who so happen to be the most hated villains on the Cobbles.

There’s killer queen of the Rovers’ Return Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn), pathological liar and keeper of mysterious trinkets Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown), narcissistic abuser Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), twisted child predator Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), and all-round sleazebag, Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard).

Each villain has been involved in their own long term story, which have all been expertly built to a crescendo just in time for Swarla’s wedding. It no doubt took a fair bit of wrangling in the story office. But it’s finally here.

Next week will feature what Coronation Streel bosses have billed as ‘an innovative and drama packed week of episodes’ which takes the viewer back to the day of Carla and Lisa’s wedding.

The first four episodes start at the point that the two blushing brides arrive at Underworld for the reception, with each different trip to the Cobbles following what could be potentially the last day in the life for one of the potential murder victims.

Friday’s episode brings all the action together, ending in fireworks lighting up the sky to celebrate Swarla’s union…

… until of course, Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) discovers the body. This grim development has already been revealed in a flashforward earlier this year. Now we will see all the events that run up to Betsy’s grisly find… and the explosive fallout.

Theo

Monday’s episodes starts with a bang when Theo appears in the shop flat, much to Todd’s (Gareth Pierce) horror. Thankfully George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) arrives and the pair manage to overpower Todd’s abusive ex and escape from the flat. They report Theo to Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) … but he’s vanished.

Carl

Tuesday’s episode sees Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) confess to Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) that she paid Carl to get out of her life for good after he tried to extort money from Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby).

Meanwhile, Carl tries to tie up some loose ends before disappearing, but manages to wind up his former mistress Abi Webster (Sally Carman Duttine), Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), the man he put in a wheelchair with a reckless a hit and run , Theo, who confessed to killing Billy in earshot of Carl, and Kevin, his own brother whose marriage he destroyed.

Seething after a text from Kevin, Carl secretly tampers with the brakes on Kevin’s car in the garage. Carl’s already a liar, a cheat and a fraud. Now he’s adding attempted murder to his CV. Will he be found out before it’s too late?

Jodie

On Wednesday, Jodie is preparing to flee Weatherfield after Olivia, a child she used to look after as a nanny, arrived on her doorstep in search of her father’s mysterious hard drive – which Jodie has in her mysterious box of keepsakes.

But when she hears Shona (Julia Goulding) screaming, Jodie runs outside to find her sister being accosted by two thugs. Realising they have come for her, Jodie give up the hard drive. Seeing how upset she is, Shona asks her to stay. But then Jodie makes a discovery that changed everything – something that proves Shona lied about never receiving her letter when they were kids, which means she never tried to come back for Jodie after she ran away from home. This is sure to make Jodie’s desire for revenge against her sister all the more deadly…

David (Jack P Shepherd) becomes collateral damage in that revenge as Jodie makes a bold move to try and break up their marriage. Finding herself out on the street Jodie scuttles off into the night, unaware she’s being watched…

In the precinct, Jodie parks herself on the swings, frustrated with herself for messing everything up…. then someone approaches. Jodie freezes. Has her past transgressions finally caught up with her. Someone approaches, she’s taken aback, has her past or recent behaviour finally caught up with her?

Megan

Thursday’s episode sees Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley), Leanne (Jane Danson) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) frogmarch Megan into the salon flat to make her confess to grooming Will (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).

But she refuses and winds them up ,resulting in another scuffle… and Megan getting punched in the nose!

Playing the victim, Megan tries to get sympathy from ex boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). But after being effectively used as her beard while she abused a chid, he is understandably low on sympathy. After being thrown out of Number 1, she overhears Maggie talking to Melanie about how he husband died… and records it on her phone.

Big mistake. We’re talking about a woman who pushed her husband down the stairs after all. Maggie tracks her down and confronts Megan about the recording. But when Megan reveals a secret of her own… Maggie sees red. Will the feud between the two result in one of them falling to their death?
