Paddy worries about his future in Emmerdale (Picture: ITV)
We could be on the verge of losing one of our absolute Emmerdale favourites.
It’s crunch time for Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) as the court date rolls around to seal their fate.
It’s been weeks of wondering what their future looks like – they both confessed to helping Bear (Joshua Richards) get rid of Ray’s body thinking it might help Bear’s (Joshua Richards) case and that their punishment probably wouldn’t be too bad.
But this admission took a turn after it was later discovered Ray had been putting hefty sums of money in Bear’s name.
Suddenly, Bear was made to look like an accomplice, and Paddy’s involvement in covering up the murder seemed to have new meaning.
Paddy knows the outcome is likely to be bad and he psyches himself up to tell daughter Eve that she might be growing up without her dad around.
She hears gossip about her dad being arrested and is left distraught, leaving Paddy no choice but to explain to her that helping her granddad means he now faces jail.
Prepare for some tugs on the old heartstrings as little Eve begs him not to go, and Mandy (Lisa Riley) is heartbroken to witness the effect this moment has on Paddy.

Previous Page Next PageIn a mouth working faster than her brain moment, Mandy blurts out that Paddy should let Bear take the blame. Jeesh. Paddy is disgusted by this awful suggestion and leaves.
Mandy is instantly regretful and they manage to kiss and make up, as they both acknowledge their reactions come from a place of fear.
Visiting Bear in prison, Paddy finds his dad in a bad place as the thought of the bank account Ray opened in his name plagues him. It’s certainly damning evidence, and with Bear having accidentally incriminated himself, it doesn’t bode well for court.

But there’s a tiny ray of light, ‘scuse the pun, about to shine on these three. Bear’s fellow former captive Simo reappears. This is particularly surprising, as Bear thought he was dead.

This is renewed hope and Paddy pleads with Simo to testify. But it was never going to be that easy, Simo gives a no. He acknowledges Bear shouldn’t be sent down, but he can’t he a part of it.
