A woman has been arrested after making allegations she was gang raped in a Kent park over Facebook.

The woman, in her 20s, had claimed that four men in tracksuits sexually assaulted her in Milton Regis Recreation Ground in a viral post.

Kent Police started an investigation without getting a direct report from the alleged victim.

But after launching inquiries based on the online claims, they found no evidence that such an attack had taken place.

Officers arrested a woman and took her to a local police station for questioning.
